About Me
As a designer, I take a user-centric approach to crafting solutions, matching user needs to business goals to drive impact.
Hey, I’m Kara - a UX designer, inventor, and researcher hoping to further my career designing for
AI and emerging technologies.
I was born in Maryland and have been a lifelong east-coaster. I discovered my love for design and technology as a middle-schooler during the MySpace era where I fell in love with the ability to customize profile pages from source code.
After graduating from the University of Baltimore with a B.A. in Digital Communications, I worked at startups and nonprofits in Baltimore where I became driven to design digital experiences that elevate both users and their communities.
Currently, I'm a UX designer at IBM, designing solutions for a variety of industries including AI and finance.
I'm an advocate for inclusive design and have created patents for the metaverse and AR/VR technology.
Outside of the home office, you can catch me geeking out on video games or traveling with friends.
Volunteering and mentoring are very close to my heart, I mentor underprivileged kids interested in
design careers.
